. . . . .
The famous and very unique ‘Fern Canyon’, located just inland of the coastal beach in
‘Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park’,
was used as the location for scenes in the movies “The Lost World: Jurassic Park,” BBC's “Walking with Dinosaurs” and IMAX's “Dinosaurs Alive!” The canyon can be accessed by either a 9-mile out-and-back hike along the James Irvine trail NW from Prairie Creek headquarters area or a 14-mile out-and-back drive along Davison road, through ‘Redwood National Park’, and Beach road past ‘Gold Bluffs Beach Campground’
